Federal Government plans to target employers of Illegals

The Feds via the Homeland Security department are putting the finishing touches on new rules that would require employers to release from employment those employees who are using false or unverifiable documents.  The DHS plans to step up their raids and unannounced visits to businesses that are suspected of employing illegals immigrants.

While I think that this plan of the Federal Government to step up inspections and raids on employers is great and needed, I would like to see the Federal Government start to dole out heavy fines to these employers of Illegal immigrants.  The measure needs to go further than it will as currently designed.  As local governments and their counterparts at the state level continue address this issue of illegal immigration, the Federal Government will find its in the unenviable position of having to respond to citizen outrage over its lack of solutions to the illegal immigration issue.
